Stewardship and Community Reinvestment

Embracing Community Logo

This is a huge part of our culture. In fact, we recently polled our team members asking what their favorite part about working at Geneva is and the overwhelming response: our community impact.

We get involved to strengthen our community.

When we commit our time and efforts to a cause we feel strongly about, we feel an incredible sense of fulfillment. Volunteering is a way for us to have fun with each other and build relationships outside the office.

We look for opportunities where the donation of the time or resources would:

A two-pronged approach to giving.

We keep our hearts and ears open for stories from personal acquaintances, families, or organizations in need. Each recipient either has a tie to our team or the communities we call home.

Time & Talents

We love volunteering our time and skills…whether that’s helping at a food drive, reading in a classroom, or mentoring high school students. In fact, each Geneva team member is allocated 2 hours of volunteer time per month to use during the workday.

Financial Impact

We allocate a certain percentage of our earnings to community giving each year. The Community Reinvestment Committee (CRC) is in charge of reviewing and distributing those funds.

Community Reinvestment Committee (CRC)

Created in 2011, the CRC is a group of 4-5 employee volunteers who’ve committed to service for a 3-month term. They’re responsible for fielding donation requests and allocating funds to the recipients of their choosing. The boots on the ground.

Most of the time, we can get funds in the recipients' hands when they need it most...right away! Funds go straight from the CRC's hands to the recipent, cutting out a middle man that can sometimes slow the process down.

The CRC has given the community $4,000,000 and counting!

Since 2015, we’ve been able to step in and directly impact close to 1,500 local families.
(That number does not include the families impacted by organizations we’ve donated to.)

What does the future have in store?

  • Continue our work
  • Teach our kids
  • Emphasize giving of time

We love Alexandria and the people who live here. Our hope is to continue to make this a place of love, safety, and opportunity for all of our youth. We believe that no child deserves to suffer hardship and that it’s out duty, as a community, to rally around our own and build them up.

We intentionally try to get our own families involved in giving from an early age. Each Christmas season, we take all our children out as a group to shop for local children in need. It’s a night dedicated to giving to others. Our mission is to continue to add opportunities for entire families to volunteer together. After all, children are our future leaders.

There are so many opportunities to make an impact that aren’t financial. Using our career skills to mentor youth, using our muscles to build homes or clean up yards, and using our hearts and minds to search out and develop new ways to give back are the largest opportunity we see to take our community impact to a higher level.
